Dynamic DNS [RFC 2136] is a specification that enables DHCP servers and other clients
to update the DNS database on the fly. All versions of BIND 8+ support DDNS. RFC 2137
specifies a protocol which can be used as an authentication mechanism so that dynamic
updates cannot be easily spoofed as they can today. Very few DNS servers actually have
secure update transactions implemented. This is mostly due to companies fighting over
protocol standards. The ddns.tar.gz tarball contains code that can be used for update spoofing.
