BIND (Berkeley Internet Name Domain) is an implementation of the Domain Name System (DNS)
protocols and provides an openly redistributable reference implementation of
the major components of the Domain Name System, including:
- DNS 伺服器
- DNS 解譯函式庫
- tools for verifying the proper operation of the DNS server
- 目前版本為 BIND Version 9.1.1 (2001/3/28 釋出)
BIND 9.1 is capable of acting as an authoritative server for DNSSEC secured zones.
This functionality is believed to be stable and complete except for lacking support
for wildcard records in secure zones.
When acting as a caching server, BIND 9.1 can be configured to perform DNSSEC secure
resolution on behalf of its clients. This part of the DNSSEC implementation is still
considered experimental. For detailed information about the state of the DNSSEC
implementation, see the file doc/misc/dnssec.
- DNSSEC (signed zones)
- TSIG (signed DNS requests)
Also in wide release: BIND 8 仍廣泛使用中,目前最新的版本為 BIND Version 8.2.3 (2001/1/26 釋出)

DNS Security (or DNSSEC) applies cryptography to the Domain Name System to authenticate the
information served. This site is about the process of integrating DNS Security with the existing
DNS infrastructure.
